Share events externally to collect RSVPs

Share any one-off event with people outside your village and collect their RSVPs, no PAM account needed. Learn how to turn on sharing, send the link, and see who's coming.

PAM lets you share any one-off event with people outside your village (wider family, WhatsApp groups, team sports) and collect their RSVPs, all without them needing a PAM account. You get a simple link to send however you like (text, email, WhatsApp, a group chat), and you can see at a glance who's coming.

This article covers how to turn sharing on, send the link, see who's responded, and what your guests experience on their end.

Turn on sharing for an event

You can share an event while you're creating it, or any time afterwards.

1. Open the PAM app

2. Tap + to create a new event (or open an existing event and tap Edit)

3. Fill in your event details as usual - title, date, time, and location

4. Switch on Share this event

5. Tap Save

That's it. PAM creates a shareable link for your event. When you save a brand-new shared event, PAM takes you straight to the event so you can grab the link.

📝 Note: Sharing is for one-off events only. The Share this event toggle won't appear for repeating events. Private events can't be shared either.

Sending the link

1. Open the shared event from your Calendar

2. Tap See shared event details

3. Copy the link and send it to your guests however you like — text, email, WhatsApp, or a group chat

See who's coming

From See shared event details, you can see each guest's response as it comes in. Guests can reply:

  • Going

  • 🤔 Maybe

  • Not going

Their name shows next to their answer, so you always know who's responded.

What your guests see

Your guests don't need PAM, they just tap the link and land on a friendly page with your event details. From there, they can:

  • RSVP with Going, Maybe, or Not going

  • Add the event to their own calendar, such as Google, Outlook, Apple, or any calendar app

  • Opt in to a reminder before the event

If a guest already uses PAM, the event drops straight into their shared calendar too.

📝 Note: Guests only ever see what you'd expect — the event title, date, time, location, and description. Nothing else from your calendar is visible.

Turn off sharing

Changed your mind? You can stop sharing an event at any time.

1. Open the event from your **Calendar**

2. Tap **Edit**

3. Switch off **Share this event**

4. Tap **Save**

The link will stop working, and the event will no longer be visible to your guests.

I responded to an RSVP, what now?

When someone in your village RSVPs Going or Maybe to an event another family shared with you, it becomes a family event and shows up in every village member's calendar labelled Shared by [name] so everyone knows where it came from.

These shared events are view-only in your calendar (just like events from a connected Google or Outlook calendar). Only the person who actually RSVP'd sees the Change your RSVP option, so responses never get crossed.
