If you wear a smartwatch, PAM's reminders can tap you on the wrist. There's no separate PAM app for your watch, and nothing extra to switch on inside PAM. Your watch simply mirrors the notifications your phone already receives, so the job is to make sure PAM notifications are working on your phone first, then let them through to your wrist.
Start here: turn on PAM notifications
Before touching your watch, check PAM itself is set to send you notifications. Our guide on how to manage your PAM notifications and email summaries walks you through it, and tells you exactly which reminders PAM sends.
In short: open the PAM app → Settings → Notifications → make sure Push Notifications is ON.
If PAM notifications aren't arriving on your phone at all, they'll never reach your watch. Fix the phone first with why am I not receiving PAM push notifications for events & tasks?, then come back here.
Apple Watch
Your Apple Watch takes its lead from your iPhone. By default it mirrors your iPhone's notifications, so once PAM is notifying you on the phone it should appear on the watch too. If it isn't, here's where to look.
1. Check PAM is set to mirror
On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
Tap Notifications.
Scroll down to the list of apps and find PAM.
Make sure it's set to Mirror my iPhone.
2. Check your wrist isn't muted
Swipe up on your watch face to open Control Centre and check Silent Mode is off.
Check Do Not Disturb and any Focus mode (Sleep, Work, Personal) aren't holding notifications back.
In the Watch app on your iPhone, tap Sounds & Haptics and make sure Haptic Alerts are on, and turned up enough to feel.
3. A note on where notifications land
Apple sends alerts to whichever device you're using. If your iPhone is unlocked and in your hand, the notification usually stays on the phone rather than buzzing your wrist. That's expected behaviour, not a fault.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
Galaxy Watches connect to your phone through the Galaxy Wearable app, and that's where you choose which apps are allowed through.
1. Allow PAM notifications on the watch
On your phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app.
Tap Watch settings → Notifications.
Tap App notifications (on some versions this is Manage notifications).
Find PAM in the list and toggle it on.
2. Check the "phone only" setting
Still under Notifications, look for an option like Show notifications while wearing watch or Notify when phone is in use.
By default, many Galaxy Watches only buzz when your phone screen is off. If you want alerts on your wrist regardless, turn this on.
3. Check the watch isn't muted
Swipe down from the top of your watch face and check Do Not Disturb, Bedtime mode, and Theatre mode are off.
On the watch, go to Settings → Sounds and vibration and make sure vibration is turned up.
Menu names shift a little between One UI versions and watch models, but the path is always: Galaxy Wearable app → Notifications → app list → PAM.
Other smartwatches
Fitbit, Garmin, Google Pixel Watch, Huawei, Amazfit, Withings and most other watches all work the same way: they relay notifications from your phone rather than running PAM themselves. So the recipe is the same everywhere, even if the menus are named differently.
Find the companion app on your phone. Fitbit, Garmin Connect, Google Pixel Watch, Zepp, Huawei Health, and so on. This is where notification permissions live for nearly every brand.
Look for the notifications section. It's usually called Notifications, App notifications, Smart notifications, or Alerts.
Allow PAM through. Many watches default to "all apps", but plenty default to a short list of just calls and messages. Find PAM in the app list and switch it on.
Grant the phone permission the app asks for. On Android, companion apps need Notification access to read and forward alerts. If the app prompts you for this, say yes, otherwise nothing will come through.
Check Do Not Disturb on both devices. A quiet mode on either the phone or the watch will stop reminders reaching your wrist.
If you can see other apps' notifications on your watch but not PAM, it's almost always the app list in the companion app. If you can't see any app's notifications, it's the phone permission or a Do Not Disturb setting.
Troubleshooting: I turned PAM notifications off in the past
This is the most common reason reminders never reach a watch. If you tapped Don't Allow when PAM first asked about notifications, or switched them off later, your phone quietly keeps blocking them, and the PAM app's own settings can still look correct. Your watch only ever mirrors what the phone is allowed to show, so nothing will arrive on your wrist until the phone permission is restored.
Work through these in order.
1. Re-allow PAM at the phone level
iPhone: Open Settings → scroll to PAM → Notifications → turn on Allow Notifications, and enable Alerts, Sounds and Badges. Once this is off, iOS won't ask you again, so it has to be switched back on here by hand.
Android: Open Settings → Apps → PAM → Notifications and turn them on. Also check Battery and allow PAM to run in the background, as battery saving can silently hold reminders back.
2. Turn PAM's own notifications back on
In the PAM app, go to Settings → Notifications and make sure Push Notifications is ON. If you switched these off during a busy week, this is where you turn them back on.
3. Undo anything you dismissed on the watch itself
If you ever swiped a PAM notification and chose Mute, Turn off, or Block on your watch, that app stays blocked there even after the phone is fixed.
Apple Watch: iPhone Watch app → Notifications → scroll to the bottom for muted apps, and set PAM back to Mirror my iPhone.
Samsung and others: open the companion app's notification list and switch PAM back on.
4. Restart the connection
After changing permissions, restart your phone and your watch. Companion apps often only pick up a new app in their notification list after a fresh sync.
5. Still nothing?
Send yourself a test: create an event in PAM starting in about an hour and a half, and wait for the 1-hour reminder.
If it arrives on your phone but not your watch, it's a watch setting. If it doesn't arrive on either, work through why am I not receiving PAM push notifications for events & tasks?
Frequently asked questions
Is there a PAM app for my watch?
Not at the moment. Your watch mirrors the notifications your phone receives, which means you still get your morning summary, event reminders and next-day nudges on your wrist.
Do I need my phone nearby?
Usually yes. Most watches relay notifications over Bluetooth from your phone. If your watch has its own mobile data or is on Wi-Fi, notifications can keep coming while your phone is out of range.
Can I get PAM on my wrist without a smartwatch?
Yes. PAM can message you on WhatsApp with a morning summary and reminders before events, which lands on any device you use WhatsApp on. See get PAM reminders on WhatsApp.
Will my whole family get these on their watches?
Each person controls their own notifications, on both their phone and their watch. Turning yours on doesn't change anyone else's, and everyone in your household can set this up on whatever watch they wear.
Can I get reminders only on my watch and not my phone?
Not separately. Because the watch mirrors the phone, PAM notifications need to stay on for your phone. You can, however, use your phone's Focus or Do Not Disturb settings to keep the phone quiet while your wrist still buzzes.
